A key feature of my journals is their texture, designed to promote positivity and relaxation for mental health. Research has shown that textures can help regulate breathing and provide a calming experience.

I explore charity shops, car boot sales, reclamation centres, and even around my home, embracing a "never say no" philosophy. I incorporate larger items like metal, beads, and thicker trimmings on the exterior of the book, while using a diverse array of materials throughout its pages.

Beads and buttons can be discovered in various places, but my absolute favourite discovery is a Nana's button tin at a car boot sale. The warmth I experience when I open the tin is tangible, reflecting years of collecting since no button was ever discarded. I feel truly honoured to use these special collections.
I'd love to know what you use in your journals and where you find them?? i look forward to hearing from you.
